Walter Fraser Oakeshott (1903-1987) was an Assistant Master at Merchant Taylors’, 1927-1930; Assistant Master Winchester College, 1931-1938; High Master of St Paul’s School, 1939-1946; Headmaster of Winchester College, 1946-1954; Vice-Chancellor, Oxford University, 1962-1964; Pro-Vice-Chancellor, 1964-1966.
