The donor, George Isaac Huntingford, was a Scholar Winchester College (1762); Scholar and Fellow of New College, Oxford (1768-85); Fellow of Winchester College (1785-89); Warden of Winchester (1789- 1832). He was, concurrently, Bishop of Gloucester (1802-15), then Bishop of Hereford (1815-32).
