Collected on 21st June 1873 by J Harbord Lewis from Willaston in Chesire. John Harbord Lewis (1848 – 1906) was an amateur botanist who collected extensively across the UK. Part of his collection is in the Natural History Museum.
The Latin specific epithet tinctoria means ‘used as a dye’.
