Early 18^th century English binding of red goatskin over paste boards; rolled dog-tooth border; dolphin tool in central panel. Perhaps by John Brindley, binder to Queen Caroline and Frederick, Prince of Wales.

This volume once belonged to Horace Walpole (1717-1797) and has his first bookplate, which he began using c. 1732. On the front endpaper is a Strawberry Hill pressmark (B.4.3).
