Made by Hill & Son of London, the label on this organ pipe says: “Trumpet. Middle C. 256 Obtained from Messrs Hill 1885. They were rebuilding organ in Westminster Abbey”. Croft makes a comment about this organ pipe in one of his scrapbooks: “When I visited them and got a trumpet pipe from them they were then the organ builders to Winchester College: they built the organ of 1875.”
