Crystal ‘cat’s whisker’ diode [Sc0110]

A commercial crystal from an early 20th Century radio set has been mounted on to a piece of wood. The diode would have been used to detect radio signals. We have many other items of equipment in our collection, like this one, that have been made in-house by technicians in the science department.
