Given in memory of Tom Edgecombe Hellyer (K, 1912-17), Squadron-Leader in the Royal Fleet Auxillary, who died in India on 8th September 1932. The vases were originally intended to go on the altar in Chapel.
The designer, Reginald Gleadowe (1888–1944), was Drawing Master at Winchester from 1923 to 1939.
