Tommy Cookson (b. 1942) was a pupil at Winchester (I. 1955-1960), Assistant Master at Winchester, 1964-1965 and 1967-1972; Head of English, 1974-1983; Housemaster, 1983-1990; Headmaster at King Edward VI School, Southampton, 1990-1996; Headmaster at Sevenoaks School, 1996-2001; Principal, British School in Columbo, 2002; Headmaster at Winchester, 2003-5.

The artist was a pupil at Winchester College (C. 1967-1971).
