This painting is presumably related to a work entitled ‘Washing Place – Normandy’, exhibited by Thomson at the Royal Academy in 1918 (no. 568). A painting of this subject is in the collection of the Laing Art Gallery, Newcastle and another was sold at Bonham’s, London (14 June 2006, lot 72).
