George Huddesford was an amateur painter and pupil of Sir Joshua Reynolds. He was a Scholar of Winchester, 1764-1769. According to notes made by John Harvey in the early 20th century, this posthumous portrait of Warden Bigg is a copy of an original at Prior’s Court, Newbury, Berkshire. The whereabouts of the original are unknown.
